The founding fathers didn't imagine email, blogs, the internet, TV, radio or any other "high technology" ways that you may wish to express yourself. God-given human rights only applied to the technology level of the 18th century, right?

I called myself a very conservative Republican; a pretty liberal Democrat – but I definitely leaned farther left than anything else. You know this.
It was only through my friendships with people who are firmly Right – allowing myself to see things through their POV without judgment and with an open mind did I determine that my previous way of thinking was clearly contributing to the degradation of society and encouraging people not to be in charge of themselves and their destinies. I was contributing to the Nanny State without even realizing it.
Call this simplistic, but I firmly believe that shutting Lefties out simply contributes to the schism. Make it a personal mission to educate others through friendship. I’m not advocating making friends with the singular mission to make the person more Right – but being more open to others with viewpoints that are different from your own does have benefits; it does change opinions. I’m living proof. I was Left. I was Liberal. I was afraid of guns. I was befriended by someone who is decidedly Left – and I came to the place where I am now. Right, Conservative, and nice little Walther.

I believe Maura and others were never liberals. They were conservatives trapped in a whirlwind of MSM mind-suck and were intelligent enough to realize it. True liberals are blind to anything except what the MSM and their lib pols tell them to think.
